About Me
I’m Rachel — a registered independent midwife offering personalised maternity care across Sussex, Kent and Surrey.
I’ve worked in both NHS and private settings, and I know from experience how important it is to have time, trust and continuity on your maternity journey. Too often appointments feel rushed, and your story gets lost in antenatal clinics or postnatal wards. That’s why I practise midwifery in a way that honours your voice, supports your decisions, and treats your experience with care and respect — whether you’re planning a home birth, thinking about hospital care with continuity, or looking for additional support alongside NHS services.
I bring:
Professional clinical skill
Thoughtful explanations free of jargon
Advocacy, connection and respect for your choices
My aim is to help you feel informed, confident and cared for — not managed, rushed or judged.
My Philosophy of Care
Your journey is unique, and there’s no one “right way” to experience pregnancy and birth. My role is to:
Share clear, balanced information
Support you to make decisions that feel right for you
Be present, grounded and steady
Offer continuity through every phase of care
I believe that when people feel genuinely heard, understood and supported, they make clearer decisions and feel more confident in their experience.
Your Voice & Relationship Matter
Many families tell me they chose private midwifery because they wanted:
Time to explore questions without pressure
A midwife they see consistently
Clear explanations and thoughtful guidance
Your care shouldn’t be transactional — it should be relational.
